Forest Key Ltd. is a forestry technology and consulting company owned by three foresters: Petteri Mönkkönen, Akseli Juurinen and Antti Nevalainen.
The company’s operations began in 2013, when Petteri started offering forest planning and logging services as a sole proprietor. The business quickly expanded into industrial wood procurement support, with a focus on geospatial expertise and strong negotiation skills with forest owners. Thanks to successful work, the number of contracts grew, and Petteri began hiring employees.
In 2019, the current trio of owners came together. Antti had pioneered innovative approaches to forest resource analytics and photogrammetry-based inventory as an entrepreneur. Akseli had developed a deep understanding of programming and logical frameworks. We spent long discussions at the Kerubi restaurant in Joensuu, relaxed in the sauna on the shores of Lake Pielinen, and hiked in the wilderness of Eastern Finland – exploring how to better utilize data in forestry and what new technologies we could bring to the sector.
By combining practical forestry experience, innovation, and data-driven thinking, we built a growing business and embraced bold new challenges. In 2023, we established a subsidiary in Sweden, Skogsnyckeln AB. Since 2024, we have been offering our services internationally. Today, our team includes 35 experts in fields such as forest technology, ecology, renewable energy project development and geoinformatics.
